Started by Harinder Singh and a few close friends on December 2017, the Punjabi Club of Virginia was created with a simple but heartfelt idea: to keep our community connected, to celebrate our shared Punjabi culture, and to make sure the memories of Punjab de yaad never fade in the busy rhythm of American life.
Our gatherings are not about formality — there are no registrations, no strict agendas, and no speeches. Instead, we focus on what brings us true joy: good company, lively laughter, and the spirit of Punjab that lives within each of us. It’s a space where we can all relax, share stories, and feel at home.
At every meetup, you’ll hear the familiar sounds of old Punjabi and Hindi songs — sometimes sung to the beat of a tabla, sometimes just hummed with love. We share jokes and funny qisse, recite poems, and remember the warmth of old friends. Food and tea flow freely, but the real treat is the mitti di khushboo that seems to fill the room when we gather.
The Punjabi Club of Virginia is more than a group — it’s a family. Each member brings their own flavor: one person sings, another tells a sher, someone else cracks a joke that makes us all laugh until our eyes water. Together, we create evenings filled with the kind of happiness you can’t buy, only share.
✨ “Gallan naal naal dil vi milde ne.”
Because when we come together, it’s not just about conversation — it’s about hearts connecting.
